Who is Will Poulter?
William Jack Poulter is a famous British professional actor. He first became famous for his role as Eustace Scrubb in the fantasy adventure movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). Poulter then earned more recognition for his starring role in the comedy movie We’re the Millers (2013), winning the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
Will starred in the science fiction movie The Maze Runner (2014) and the sequel Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018). As well as the period epic movie The Revenant (2015), portraying legendary frontiersman Jim Bridger as a young man, the crime drama movie Detroit (2017), the interactive sci-fi movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018), and the folk horror movie Midsommar (2019). 2007-2012: Early work
2007-2010
Will played various acting roles prior to landing the role of Lee Carter in the 2007 film Son of Rambow. The film was launched to positive reviews and praise for the performance of Poulter and his co-star Bill Milner. Will then performed alongside other young comedic actors in School of Comedy, which aired its pilot on Channel 4’s Comedy Lab on August 21, 2008. School of Comedy was later commissioned for a full series by Channel 4, starting to air on October 2, 2009, and completed after a second series.
Poulter was picked to play the role of Eustace Scrubb in the movie The Chronicles of Marnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2009. It was filmed in Queensland, Australia and he was accompanied by some members of his family. The film was first screened on December 10, 2010, and it opened to mixed reviews, although his performance was well praised. He then appeared in the BBC Three pilot The Fades, a 60-minute supernatural thriller written by Skins writer Jack Thorne in 2010. The pilot was later picked up as a six-part series with an almost entirely new cast, airing in 2011.

Will started filming a small British independent movie titled Wild Bill, directed by Dexter Fletcher, at the end of 2010. The movie was launched on March 23, 2012, to extremely positive reviews, with praise for his performance. He then appeared with his School of Comedy co-star and famous British blogger, Jack Harries, on his YouTube channel JacksGap, in a video titled Jack and Will in 2011. In 2012, he started studying drama at the University of Bristol where he resided in Badock Hall but then dropped out after a year to pursue acting full time.

2013-present: Mainstream recognition and other works
2013-2014
Poulter portrayed Kenny in We’re the Millers, starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis in 2013. As the movie opened to mixed reviews, the performances of the cast were well received, especially that of Will. He found mainstream recognition with his showy, comedic work in the movie. Poulter then appeared as a caretaker in the music video for Rizzle Kicks’ song ”Skip to the Good Bit”. Despite loving the script and auditioning for the role of Augustus Waters, he was denied the role in The Fault in Our Stars.
Will portrayed Fordy in the crime movie Plastic, directed by Julian Gilbert and starring Ed Speleers, Sebastian De Souza, Alfie Allen, and Emma Rigby in 2014. The movie was critically panned on launch. He also portrayed Gally in the movie adaptation of The Maze Runner together with Kaya Scodelario and Dylan O’Brien the same year. He portrayed Jim Brider in the revenge-thriller The Revenant (2015), directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. The movie focuses on an 1820s frontiersman on the path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling. He then played the racist police officer Philip Krauss in the movie Detroit, about the 1967 Detroit riots. His efforts in the movie were praised with one critic calling him ”terrifyingly confident”. He was then initially cast as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 2017 adaptation of the Stephen King novel It. But it was revealed later in June 2016, that Bill Skarsgard had been cast instead because Will dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and the departure of original director Gary Fukunaga.
