Personal life
Enoch Adeboye got married to Folu Adeboye on the 17th of December 1967. He is the dad to four kids (three daughters and three sons) and several grandchildren of the union. He is a pastor. Enoch Adeboye passed away with his son, Dare Adeboye on the 4th of May 2021. He died at 42 years old.
Childhood and early life
Enoch Adejare Adeboye was born on the 2nd March 1942 at Ifewara near Ife located situated in Osun State, Nigeria. The family he was raised in had a humble family background (Poor family)
Education
Enoch Adejare Adeboye started his studies at Ilesha Grammar School in Ilesha Osun State in 1956. Enoch Adejare Adeboye later went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in Nsukka but due to the Nigeria Civil War, he obtained his first degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he graduated with the degree of Bachelor’s in Mathematics in the year 1967. In the was the year he got married to Foluke Adenike. They have four children, namely: Adeolu Adeboye, Bolu Adubi (nee Adeboye), Dare Adeboye, and Leke Adeboye. He graduated in 1969 and received the degree of Master in Hydrodynamics at the University of Lagos. The following year, he received a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos. He is currently a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos.

Ministry
Adejare Adeboye joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973. He was an interpreter prior to being named a pastor in this church in 1975 through Pa. Josiah Akindayomi in 1975. He was named the General Overseer of the church in the year 1981. For the next three years, he occupied the post-part-time at Unilorin before resigning from his post at the university to become a full-time pastor.
The church, was not very well-known before Adeboye was appointed the General Overseer. It has churches in 196 countries at the time of writing (March 2017) which includes over 14 million worshippers in Nigeria. The church’s founder, Adeboye has said that he wants to establish an institution within 5 minutes of walking distance in cities that are developing and five minutes drive in the cities of developed countries.
Adeboye is believed to be a minister from the prosperity gospel which he doesn’t deny and claims the “Pentecostals have such an impact because they talk of the here and now, not just the by and by… while we have to worry about heaven, there are some things God could do for us in the here and now.”
In the wake of new legislation, which placed restrictions on the leadership of non-profit organizations to 20 years of experience and not more than 70 years of age Pastor Adeboye Resigned as the General Overseer in the year 2017.
The birthday boy celebrated his 80th birthday in 2022. Adeboye’s foundation gave away eight dialysis machines at Wuse District Hospital, together with a reverse-osmosis medical water purification system as well as an electric generator.
Endowments of the university
Adeboye has donated to four Nigerian universities which include Obafemi Awolowo University as well as The University of Nigeria.

Adeboye was named one of the top 100 influential Africans according to the New African publication in the year 2019.
