Itauma faced Jancarmelo Nieves from Puerto Rico by 5-0 in the first round. In the semi-finals, he beat Egyptian Youssef Ali Karar 5-0. Itauma then defeated Russian Rusian Kolesnikov in the final by 4-1.

Professional career

Early career

It was revealed that he had signed a deal to fight professionally under the Queensberry promotional banner on March 10, 2020. He then made his professional debut against Lewis Van Poetsch on December 5, 2020. Itauma won through wide points decision following winning every round on the referees’ scorecard. His second fight as a professional was on April 24, 2021, against Ryan Hibbert. He knocked down his opponent with a left hook in the opening moments of the first round. Hibbert was put on the canvas for a 2nd time midway through the opening round after Itauma landed another left hook. He was then declared the winner after knocking Hibbert down for a third time in the first round.

On July 10, 2021, he faced Tim Ventrella. He trapped his opponent against the ropes and landed a combination of punches which put Ventrella onto the canvas in the second round. Itauma then secured the victory after Ventrella was deemed unable to continue after the knockdown. He later faced Darryl Sharp on September 10, 2021. Itauma won by points decision following dominating the duration of the fight. On December 4, 2021, he faced Tamas Laska. He won by technical knockout after landing a heavy shot to the body of Laska in the opening round.

2022-present

His following fight was on March 11, 2022, against Jiri Kroupa. Following controlling the whole of the fight, he landed a heavy right hook followed by a flurry of unanswered punches which forced the referee to end the fight in the third round. On April 23, 2022, he fought Michal Ciach on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte. In the opening round, he landed a combination of punches to the head and body which knocked down Ciach. In the 2nd round, he went on to pressure Ciach and scored a second knockdown after landing a number of unanswered punches. This led to the referee calling an end to the fight.

Itauma faced Michal Gazdik on July 16, 2022. Following dominating the opening three rounds, he landed a barrage of punches in the opening minute of the 4th round. After this exchange, the referee called an end to the fight.
