Archbishop Nicholas Kwame Duncan-Williams is the Ghanaian Charismatic Pioneer, who is also the Presiding Archbishop and general overseer for the Action Chapel International (ACI) ministry, with its headquarters at Accra, Ghana. He is the founding father of the Charismatic Movement which started 40 years ago in Ghana and in other regions in West Africa. CAFM is a single church that spans several locations and has more than 200 affiliates as well as 250 branches across North America, Europe, and Africa.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams was the first non-American leader to be the leader of the prayer for the US President as well as Vice President United States during the inauguration. His wife and the Archbishop Rosa Whitaker of The Whitaker Group were named one of Africa’s most powerful couples.
In 1957, Nicholas was born 1957 to Florence Bruce even though doctors had previously advised her that the pregnancy was a hazard to her health, she underwent an operation to end the pregnancy. A few months later, Mother Florence discovered that Baby Nicholas did not require the procedure.
Then it was found out that she was carrying twins, with Nicholas, the infant Nicholas as the sole one to survive. Nicholas’ dad, E.K. Duncan-Williams, an ambassador politician, chief, and diplomat was actively involved in Nicholas’s life when he reached the age of 16.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams Repentance
In 1976, while on the bed of illness, after tragically losing three fingers, Nicholas Duncan Williams, was transformed by nurses who were Mrs. Raj (Hemalatha John Rajaratnam) of the Nurses Training College, and the Acquah sisters, who preached to him from his hospital bed in the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. At that point, he pledged all his heart to Christ and took a promise to proclaim the gospel to the world and serve God throughout the remaining time.

Following the Holy Ghost baptism in the Church of Pentecost, he went to Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa’s Church of God Mission International Bible College in Nigeria to learn how to become a pastor. Shortly after his return to Ghana, he established his own church, the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM) as well as The Action Chapel International (ACI). CAFM is the very first Charismatic Church in Ghana.

It is believed that Christian Action Faith Ministries has its headquarters in Action Chapel International, which is among Accra’s largest mega-churches. It began as a prayer group at his father’s home, CAFM moved to several places (Fadama, Tradefair, International Students’ Hall, Diplomatic Shop) as it expanded until it was able to its current headquarters on Spintex Road, where the Prayer Cathedral is located since 1992.
