Who is David Oyedepo?

David Olaniyi Oyedepo (born September 27, 1954) is a Nigerian preacher, Christian author, businessman, architect, and the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, and presiding Bishop of the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. The church is also known as Winners’ Chapel International.

The Winners Chapel International Network Of Churches

The Winners’ Chapel International network of churches is located in over 300 cities, in all states of Nigeria, and in several cities in 45 African nations, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada. Oyedepo has been seen as one of the pioneers of the Christian charismatic movement in Africa and has been referred to as one of the most powerful preachers in Nigeria. He is the Chancellor of Covenant University and Landmark University. He was named in 2011 by Forbes magazine as being the richest pastor in Nigeria.

David Oyedepo Day of Service (DODOS)

The DODOS is an initiative set up by the Covenant University Alumni Association with the aim to promote the contributions and lifestyle of Oyedepo. The initiative started on 27 September 2012, Oyedepo’s birthday, people around the world who connect with this initiative are expected to show an act of contribution to individuals, organizations, or the society at large.

Bishop Oyedepo’s Mission To Expand

Plans by Bishop Oyedepo led Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners’ Chapel International to plant 5,000 rural churches in 2019 are fast gaining traction. Latest reports have it that 3,000 rural churches have been planted in Nigeria during the first half of 2019 as stated by Bishop Oyedepo recently. The Church has also ordained evangelists to administer these churches this brings the number of church branches in Nigeria to well over 8,000 with well over 1,000 churches in over 65 nations across the globe. Presently, a neighboring country already has over 174 church branches apart from other countries in Africa and in 4 other continents namely Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Online coverage during the annual Shiloh Program also reaches over 170 countries every December. The Church intends to establish 2,000 more rural churches in Nigeria before the end of the year and many more outside Nigeria also.
