Who is Helen Flanagan?

Helen Joyce Gabriel Flanagan is an English actress famous for her role as Rosie Webster in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street (2000-2012). The role recurred in 2017 before she went on maternity leave on 8 June 2018. Flanagan started out taking drama classes from age five at Carol Godby’s Theatre Workshop in Bury and appeared in several adverts.

She initially appeared as Rosie Webster in Coronation Street in January 2000. Helen became nominated in 2006 for the award of ”Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress” on the British Soap Awards. She lost the award to Ellis Hollins of Hollyoaks. The subsequent year, she became nominated for ”villain of the Year” at the same awards however she lost to Coronation Street co-star Jack P. Shepherd.

Flanagan appeared in 2010, in Coronation Street spin-off Just Rosie, exploring her character Rosie Webster trying to build a modeling profession in London. She left Coronation Street in February 2012 to pursue different interests. Helen took part in the 12th series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in November 2012, finishing in 7th place. She appeared in Celebrity Super Spa, a reality tv based in a Liverpool Salon on Channel 5 in September 2013.

Flanagan starred in an episode of Celebrity Wedding Planner together with Hugo Taylor on Channel 5 in January 2014. The following August she appeared as agency nurse Kirsty Brompton in an episode of Holby City. It was mentioned in October 2016 that Flanagan could reprise her role as Rosie in Coronation Street in February 2017.
