Who Is John C. Maxwell?

John C. Maxwell (John Calvin Maxwell ) is an American pastor, author, and speaker. In addition, he has written many books that focus on leadership. Titles such as The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader. Furthermore, most of his books have sold millions of copies and some were on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Career

He started his journey in the 1970s when he was leading churches in Indiana, Ohio, California, and Florida. He served as a senior pastor of Skyline Church for 14 years, however, he left the church in 1995. Moreover, in 2004 he came back to congregational ministry at Christ Fellowship in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he is currently administering as a teaching pastor.

John began working as a guest pastor at Crystal Cathedral in Orange County, California, on November 16, 2008. Since his mentor, Robert H. Schuller, retired as senior pastor in 2008, he made a number of well-known evangelical pastors preach at his megachurch. After that, John came back to preach at the Crystal Cathedral a couple of times and his messages were aired on the Hour of Power television program.

As a result of his impact on the Wesleyan Church. The university’s founder, the Maxwell Center for Business and Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University is named after him and his family. He was inducted into the IWU Society of World Changers in 2015 and received an honorary doctorate degree.
