He began his career at the age of six by making appearances in television commercials including the “Betcha bite a chip” campaign for Chips Ahoy!. He then landed his first film role in 1990, as Chickie in Rocky V. Later after two years, he was cast in the film adaptation of Myron Levoy’s novel Alan & Naomi as Shaun Kelly. Next, he co-starred in the short-lived Fox sitcom Great Scott! with Tobey Maguire. Because of his appearance in the series, he later earned a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Young Actor Co-starring in a Television Series.

In the next work, he portrayed Dabney Coleman’s son in the comedy film The Beverly Hillbillies. He then continued to guest star in television series including Wings, Getting By, and the medical drama ER. From 1995 to 1996, he starred alongside Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio in Don’s Plum. Kevin’s best-known role for the character Eric Murphy is better known as “E”, on the 2004-2011 HBO show Entourage. Because of this role, he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2009. He went on to reprise his role as Eric in the 2015 Entourage film adaptation. In addition to television work, he has appeared in several major motion pictures including Antwone Fisher, Secretariat, John Q., The Notebook, and He’s Just Not That Into You. In 2008, he directed his first music video for the song “Camera Phone” by rapper The Game, featuring Ne-Yo.
