Who is Michael Tylo?

Michael Edward Tylo was an American actor who has appeared in numerous soap operas. Among his many roles, he was well recognized for his roles as Quinton Chamberlain on Guiding Light. He portrayed the character from 1981 to 1985 and also from 1996 to 1997. Tylo was half of the very famous super couple, Quint and Nola, with the character of Nola played by actress Lisa Brown.

Michael also played in other soap operas including All My Children as Matt Connolly, General Hospital as Charlie Prince. Additionally in The Young and the Restless as Blade Bladeson and Rick Bladeson. Tylo made a short performance in The Bold and the Beautiful as Sherman Gale.

Apart from soap operas, he has played various film and television roles, which include two seasons as Alcade Luis Ramon in Zorro and as Dee Boot in Lonesome Dove. Tylo was also a full-time professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He taught in the film department of the College of Fine Arts. Michael appeared in some productions at the Nevada Conservatory Theatre, the recent ones been, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Twelfth Night and Come Back, Little Sheba.

They tied knots in 1987 and were blessed with three children, plus a stepson from Hunter’s previous marriage. However, after 18 years of marriage, the couple broke up and went separate ways in 2005.

Later Tylo began dating his long-time fiancée Rachelle and on January 10, 2010, they married. They welcomed their first child, a daughter on February 7, 2012.

Tylo has four children collectively, three with his second wife and one with his third wife. With his second they bore three children, son Michael Edward Tylo II (April 24, 1988 -October 18, 2007), and daughters Izabella Gabrielle born November 12, 1996, and Katya Ariel, born January 15, 1998. His stepson, Christopher ”Chris” Morehart, was born on January 22, 1980, from Hunter’s marriage to Tom Morehart.

Katya as an infant was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the eye, retinoblastoma, leading to her right eye being removed to carry out chemotherapy. However, later that year a tumor was detected in the other eye but amazingly it disappeared soon and Katya recovered but she now wears a prosthetic right eye. Michael Tylo Jr. aged 19 years on October 18, 2007, accidentally drowned in the family pool in Henderson, Nevada. The cause was concluded as drowning because of seizure disorder and ruled accidental.
