Who is Rege-Jean Page?

Rege-Jean Page is a British actor known for playing Chicken George in the 2016 miniseries Roots. Page was a regular cast member on the ABC legal drama For the People from 2018 to 20919.

Furthermore, he starred in season one of the Netflix period drama Bridgerton as Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings in 2020. Page won the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series NAACP Image Award.

He started his career on a stand-up stage when he appeared in The History Boys and The Merchant of Venice opposite Jonathan Pryce. In 2015, he starred in the season finale o BBC Three drama series Waterloo Road. Page made his American debut in 2016 as Chicken George in the History Channel big-budget miniseries Roots. A revival of the 1977 miniseries of the same name, which was based on Alex Haley’s 1976 book, Roots: The Saga of an American Family.

However, the series and his performance received critical acclaim. That same year he became the cast of the Abc pilot Spark. The following year, he became cast in the Shonda Rhimes produced legal drama series For the People. Moreover, he has also appeared in the 2018 post-apocalyptic film Mortal Engines and where he had a role in the 2020 drama film Sylvie’s Love. After that, he became a cast in the male leading role in the first season of the Shonda Rhimes-produced period drama series known as Bridgerton for Netflix.

It was then confirmed that page had been cast of the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film as the main actor in February 2021. One month later it was confirmed that page joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix movie, The Gray Man which was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
