After being encouraged by her acting teacher while in college, she was looking to get into the theater. Therefore, she worked in many ancillary positions in the theater industry in D.C. to try to get noticed. She, therefore, ended up getting some major roles in local theater productions but still ended up taking odd jobs in order to make ends meet. Soon later, she started getting parts in more television productions often playing roles that she considered as “very wry, sarcastic, knowing women’ similar to her idol Bea Arthur.
However, most of these early roles were short-run series and mostly were canceled after one or two seasons. She landed her first major role when she was cast in May 2014 in the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul (2015 to Present). In the series, she portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer, and the eventual love interest of the titular Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). On February 8, 2015, the series premiered.
